Grokipedia (Q136410803
on Wikidata) is the name of an AI-powered encyclopedia that was started in October
2025 by Elon Musk as a way to, as he sees it, to remove the «propaganda»
from Wikipedia. The encyclopedia itself is a
fork of Wikipedia, with some pages being a one-to-one of the original,
while others are new and unique ones that were fully written by Grok - the in-house large language model of Twitter
and xAI.
This is unlike, way, Wikipedia, the LRS Wiki, MDKwiki, or even older encyclopedias in that none of the original contents were written by a real human - in fact, it is not possible to directly edit a page. It is possible to suggest an edit and see the history of the page. Due to no human being in the way of Grok making an edit, it is possible for the AI to just have an hallucination while making a change - that is to say, it makes up false or misleading information presented as fact as it does not know better.
